In its many forms, art has consistently accompanied me through the events of my life as a record keeper and a witness to personal reflection and growth. Over the past 15 years I have been growing my relationship with art materials as a way to guide others to uncover personal wisdom through the art-making process. I work with adults seeking help with life issues such as, divorce/separation, parenting support, grief/loss, recovery from trauma/abuse, depression, anxiety, fertility, pregnancy/postpartum concerns, self-esteem, LGBT issues and personal growth and development.
I approach each client as a unique individual and draw from a variety of modalities to meet your specific needs. I incorporate Art Therapy, EMDR-Trauma Support, Body-Centered Mindfulness Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
I received my Master’s Degree from Naropa University in 2004 in Art Therapy and Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Over the past 15 years I have worked in a variety of settings and with a wide range of ages from infants all the way to adults confronted with end of life issues. I have worked for many years with very young children and their families who have experienced early physical, sexual, emotional or birth trauma and neglect. I served for over 10 years as an early childhood mental health consultant in Denver area preschools where I guided teachers and families to understand how to make sense of challenging behavior in young children. I have also provided therapy to middle and high school-aged adolescents and their families over the past decade helping repair family connection and communication. I have taught numerous parenting classes and offered art therapy groups to kids and adults alike. I have worked extensively with adults who have experienced trauma both during childhood and in their adult lives and through the use of EMDR and art therapy have helped them make meaning out their experiences and find healing resolution.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the States of Oregon and Colorado and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington. I hold a national certification as a Registered Art Therapist and a Certified Level II EMDR Clinician.
